fsubone
Does the flugel solo remind anyone else of old elevator music?
fsubone
So. Many. Drum. Notes. But so well played
BlooFan
The book for BD is really starting to grow on me. But those poles still do absolutely nothing for me.
Notrevo
Has anyone measured how much the brass line actually plays in this show, and then subtracted the time spent on mic'd Solos?
DrumManTx
Like the music book. Hate the visual book. That's all.
jasgre2000
That Euphonium solo is gorgeous.
trumpetcam
I'm not a purist about a lot of things but this is taking the Rite of Spring too far for me. It sounds like a 70's game show. You should probably write to Brenzel and Don Sebesky for this one... Certainly, they opened a can of worms by trying to change a piece like this that caused such controversy in the classical music world. It took me more than few times to jive with the Sebesky and the more I listened to his style of writing, the more it made sense coming from the original. Coincidentally, its on the same CD as "Bird and Bela in Bb", BD 1991, which has long been one of my favorite brass books that WD has ever written! MelloMatt
Weird, unsettling, but oddly appealing, in a dark primal sense...
