mingusmonk
I guess I'm the one weirdo who likes it up high. My brain can filter and adjust the sound from up high but can't extrapolate the view from down low. I like to take in the big picture as part of the full experience. It is, however, more disconnected from the rest of the crowd. I will say I think the first few rows of 600 level sound a lot better than partway up the top half of the RCA dome did. That was like jiffy pop wrapped in bubble wrap and sizzling in a frying pan. I an indoor drum corps scale of 1 to 10, the RCA Dome was CRAP! DCImonkey
I've sat in 239, 440, and 638. 440 was the best for hearing and viewing! 239 was great for sound! 638 was great for having a heart attack walking up that #### ramp. IT WAS AWFUL! Never sit upstairs. You can't hear anything. That said....the video the OP posted was the Victory run. The stadium was half full. It's more like a Quarterfinals night run. When you put bodies in the seats like on Finals night the echo is diminished significantly. I honestly am not bothered by it at all. I sit on the 50 Club level in Atlanta every year and it's great too. A slight boom is noticeable especially early when nobody is there, but overall, It's not terrible. NOTHING is as bad as the RCA Dome was. That place was miserable to watch drumcorps. LOS and the GADome are great drum corps facilities and I won't watch a drum corps show outside unless I have to. AC and comfy seats for me jack. Section 239 Section 440 Section 638 Edited August 16, 2013 by DCImonkey
TexasPRfan
yeah but it rained all 3 days at times and we were dry and no humidity or heat sorry but I'm down with that :w00t:/> There is an easy solution to that - a different part of the country with more predictable August weather. I all the years Finals were outside that I can remember (88 forward), only Finals in Jackson (brief, relieving rain interuption) and Quarterfinals in Boston were materially impacted. other shows (Orlando years & even Denver) had a thundershower delay, but nothing materially impactful.
garfield
Although this is a little "bright", this excellent recording of Crown's encore is close to what we experience in the 240 section. We had a little more bass (which might be the phone being used) but the clarity of the horn runs and percussion are what I remember. This looks to be around the top of section 138 or so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJ8fn-wXCqY Edited August 16, 2013 by garfield
boxingfred
You have to by tickets inside the 40's and below the 400 section. But, you'll still get the ringing in your ears two days after.

skywhopper
If I can get this editor to work... Crap! Tell me the sequence of clicks to post YT vids, please. You click on the weird gray icon that's titled "Insert media" and paste in the YouTube URL, which should look like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGdJlq44Yqg. If it's got extra crud in there or "https" at the beginning just edit it to get rid of everything else, as those can confuse the editor. Now if I can just remember that the preview has code and not the actual video...
