  1. SCV is not very good at updating its website, to be honest..
  2. This somewhat describes my history. If I had known about drum & bugle corps when they we 'fitting' us for instruments in 6th grade, I probably would have taken up trumpet instead of saxophone. What would I have done in your scenario above? I would have auditioned for a lower tier or open class corps, learned a brass instrument, and tried for my 'dream corps' the following year. To me the brass sound with froward projection is what makes drum & bugle corps distinct from other marching activities. There will always be things that don't work out because of decisions and circumstances earlier in life.
  3. Interesting that the Mandarins and SCV have only four shows without each other. Their schedules are nearly identical. Any other pairs of corps that follow each other in 2020?
  4. Yes, but the announcer in Lisle was a weather man..
  5. I'm way more interested in how it will read from the press box, and what they will be performing in those uniforms. I'm sure the staff knows what they are doing.
  6. Surprised that this thread had dropped to the third page. Is it because there is nothing to report?
  7. I expect SCV to exceed last years success.
  8. Agreed. They have no weak sections, as they were close to winning the captions that they did not win in 2018. I expect them to be even better this year.
  9. SCV: 1 Gold plus 1 Silver = 3 medals in the 2010s? Is this new math?
  10. Is this show being judged, or is it an exhibition?
  11. Correct. EMU show for many years. Michigan's field is natural grass, so not ideal anyway.
  12. Agreed. Bad incline of the stands, and too far from the field.
  13. I'm interested to see the gap between BD and SCV, and I don't think either will go undefeated this year.
  14. Suit and tie. Going to the theatre straight from the office, and won't have time to change.
  15. I'm pretty sure Pete Weber was still the drill designer for 2017.
  16. Some schedule information now on DCI's website.. Premiere in Detroit.
