Jeff Ream
Afternoon tstorms at GWebb are just a fact of life. I don't expect it to impact them too badly. In fact everything Ive heard seems to indicate they're a litte ahead of last year (which is saying quite a bit -- 2013 might have been the best prepared they've ever been coming out of ST). Anyway I can't make it down this year so the weather will probably be clear all evening! ah so it was your fault...
Jeff Ream
I thought 1989 was the all-time record for most Cadets endings? I had a roommate in that one and it was hilarious to hear him reminisce. "Oh yeah, the peace sign where we all fell down dead. That lasted about half a day..." that had at least 7 or 8 endings that I remember seeing
jjeffeory
* I think you could've said, "Cadets changed their ending to almost every show ever." * FWIW my favorite was in 1995, where it really seemed like every few days they had a different ending. I probably saw that show a dozen times, and if there was a day or two when I didn't see them (i.e. saw them Monday, then again Thursday) the end was different. The end where all the males marched off in a parade block while the females stayed and played a strain of the ballad (or some other slow/somber piece) Cool! I think the difference now is that the change is built-in. Before it was them trying to find something that worked better and tweaking. Now it has become a design element that is planned for from the start; let's put in something now, then change it later to get a boost in score for the end of the season. Before it was like: This ending doesn't quite work right, let's change it! It is a subtle destinction.

They rewrite music and drill constantly so they can change as much as they want without killing performance levels. Also, GE is so important in overall score, I suspect staffs want to keep the judges interested. Same judges see the same thing repeatedly it loses some of its sparkle. I do know of corps in the early/mid-00's who had a completely separate ending in to their show, kept winning, and decided to kind of mess with the judges to see how long they would continue to have success with a blatantly tacked-on hacky ending
crownisking
For the younger audience, I would highly recommend following CarolinaCrown on Snapchat. They post content there that they don't post anywhere else.
