Metamora Madness! 7/9/2014

Can do!

2010 I know will be pretty uninteresting. BD went on an undefeated tear there. I'll need to check on 2012. 2011 had some back and forth I believe as well.

Edit: I'll make the comparisons to the eventual champ in those years, just to keep it all consistent, obviously.

Look, I don't need to take the time and effort on the ever sluggish corpsreps.com just to start some random debate about this to prove you wrong, but I'm telling you flat out you just are. Seriously, 1.05 is an incredibly small margin on July 9th, and it has happened dozens of times in a season where a champion was behind more than the margin tonight with Cadets or last night with Bluecoats. If anyone thinks it is insurmountable, they haven't been around drum corps for very long. Sorry to be brutally honest.

I distinctly remember '08 Phantom Regiment being 4th at San Antonio... 2.60 back.... and that was much MUCH MUCH later in the season. Clearly the 2011 and 2013 examples that were listed were even more relevant since they just happened.

Heck, my first year at Finals, SCV was behind BD at SEMIS by nearly a point (0.9? 0.95?) and caught them. That was 1999. I believe they beat them the week before by over a point. Again, just do some research before you honk your horn any further.

Alrighty, I thought 2010 would be the uninteresting one, but 2009 is *super* uninteresting:

Cliffs Notes version of 2009:

No one came within a point of BD, at all, until Semis night, when Crown got within .85

The gap widened back out on finals night.

BD was always more than a point ahead of everyone the entire season but for that one blip, and the vast majority of the time was nearly 2 points ahead.

Checking out 2010 now.

Let me save you the time geluf even though this forum is apparently your job.

Yes I made a "sweeping generalization" that since the Cadets were beat by a full point after listening to DCP sing their praises for the last month. I also attempted to correct that and at least get you to admit it's BD's to lose but you chose to ignore that attempt at correcting my "sweeping generalization". I will still says it's BD's championship to lose.

I bow to your and THeShadeOfNight's indepth knowledge of DCI and amazing first hand knowledge of how judging works.

As I suspected of 2010, once again no one got within a point of BD the entire season until Semifinals. They were never in any danger that year, all but maintaining at least a point-and-a-half spread (and most times 2 points). That was a crazy 2 year run.

P.S. Nice Crown Avatar.
