Drillwatcher
Look at the panels for the first 2 mini regional. Micky Kelly, Frank Morris, Nolla Jones Micheal Stone, Robert Soleman, William Chumley. Kyle Miller and Bruce Jones. And people ask why everything is decided by tenths and nothing goes out the norm. Want the same results keep using the winter guard judges.
Jeff Ream
you have several WGI percussion folks judging as well.Andif WGI does one thing well, they judge the show of the day
Kamarag
Nola Jones is one of the best judges, if not *the* best judge DCI has. No one makes more knowledgeable, educational tapes in music effect/general effect than she does. Well, maybe Joe Allison (but he was at last night's DCA show). Anything she says you can take to Vegas and let ride. Edited July 14, 2014 by Kamarag
GeneralTsoChicken
WGI is growing by leaps and bounds, makes money hand over fist, and usually gets placements in the correct neighborhood (many times with TONS more groups competing) As much as you make the WGI influence sound like a bad thing, it sounds like a great thing to me.

The money comment is incorrect. They are in the right neighborhoods because they study recaps so they do not face Inquisition. The attendance at world finals is close to 75% performers from earlier events. It is a closeted activity as far as who watches it. .
BRASSO
Nola Jones is one of the best judges, if not *the* best judge DCI has. Everyone has an opinion, and in my opinion, ( and the opinion of a few insiders ) Nola Jones is the most politicised judge in DCI at the moment.. highly vulnerable to names and personalities, past perceived slights, ( real or otherwise ) that come to the fore in her judging assignments and perhaps cloud her evaluations. But again, everyone has their favorite and non favorite judges, and what they think of each, and thats cool too. Daave
But if Finals night the arena is packed and standing room only... then who cares what the audience make up is? The answer might depend on those who are on the hook financially. If, as it was written above, there are 75% performers from previous events contributing to the packed, standing room only conditions; odds are few payed. The people financially responsible might care what the audience make up is in a smaller venue.
