DrumManTx
The Blue Stars SIDE SHOW repertoire: Entrance of the Gladiators by Julius Fucik The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze by Gaston Lyle, Alfred Lee I Will Never Leave You by Henry Krieger, Bill Russell Send in the Clowns by Stephen Sondheim Carnivale by Jeff Beal Original Music by Richard Saucedo, Ian Grom, John Mapes Yes. Yes. Yes. Now I'm REALLY excited! So glad to see some source music, and good stuff at that. "Send in the Clowns" and "I Will Never Leave You" should be beautiful if their ballad from 2014 is any indication. Phan_of_Drumming
Send in the Clowns seems pretty obvious given their show this year. Not a major surprise. Excited to hear the rest of the rep, though. Also, the Blue Stars pit has created a FB page that they'll be using to post tid-bits from spring training and pre-tour. They look like a bunch of great kids. And I really thought they carried last year's show, which was one of my favorites. I think it's an upward trend for Blue Stars percussion as a whole. I'm looking forward to big things this year! BlueStainGlass
If you follow their instagram page they posted a video of the juggler in the show. I believe he will be juggling during the trombone ensemble.
xandandl
a ha! Shades of the Cavaliers' Circus show way back when McCormick was the program coordinator. In the book about the Cavaliers, Don Warren (their founder) speaks heartfully about the juggler and the struggle of whether to find someone in the corps with that skill or to find a master juggler who was eligible to march. What have Blue Stars done?.
