corpsband
IMO Surf took a step forward this season in the quailty of their brass line. I hope that continues. Guard was very strong as usual. The show is mostly missing performance quality / presence on the part of the horn line. They were pretty robotic and stiff for such an upbeat program. But hey they're just getting started on their -- I'm sure it will grow tons.
cf144
I'm really rooting for these guys - and not just because they are based 20 minutes from my house and my niece marched with them. The circuit has been in dire need of a corps like this since VK faded into a California sunset.

Learn new parts of the snow and just arent clicking yet? it would be a little worse if their rep scores went down . Perf. score can change up or down given many things. ( if thats what you were asking...lol..if not sorry )

Kelly is Mickey, of the great Skylarks fame, he might lean a bit over to the guard as part of his achievement evaluation. At the end of the day, every corps sees swings show-to-show in many subcaptions.

Eleran
No, I get that there will be swings, but even the three Open Class corps had only 4 and 5 point differences between Rep and Perf from that judge, but Surf had a 9 point difference? I HOPE that was a data entry mistake. I didn't notice anything significantly worse about this show from previous competitions. Oh well, at least the Brass is leading the way for them this year. lumbargleeful
Cascades and Surf are making some really cool decisions that I think will have long lasting effects for the activity and the corps' themselves. Awesome. Glad to see them doing what they are doing.
