nemesiscorps
In my mind, the addition of a mere "Show Title" doth not a theme make. Heck...I could create a show entitled "Confusion," or "Discombobulation", and have it made up of an arrangement of a piece by Hildegard Von Bingen, the "Love Theme from 'Deep Throat', Shostakovich's String Quartet #3, and end with "Imperial March' from "Star Wars." Confusing? Totally. A theme? Rather unlikely... Hey...just had a thought...maybe I should field-test this in WGI.... Okay... I'm still laughing! Nice. Lincoln
Sorry, that was rude of me. I always saw it as a reference to Shostakovich's music and his defiance towards the Stalin. I don't know about Shostakovich's background so I didn't make a connection. As for being rude, i didn't take it that way. I was slightly embarrased that I had missed something. HockeyDad
I thought BD 07 was the history of the corps broken into dark into light theme with some sort of birth thing? Colts 1992, did they have a theme? 1992 is more than 25 years ago. C'mon Cowtown you're not even trying. You can do much better.. Edit: Math error. -1 for Hockeydad. 1992 was 23 years ago. That'll be a 2 minute minor penalty for being a booger-eating moron. Cowtown goes on the Power Play !! seen-it-all
I ain't buying it. I never said it was a great theme, but I'm pretty sure that's one of the aspects of what the "Signature Series" title of their show was meant to express.
tesmusic
Unusual time signatures, I believe, was the original intent of that "theme." That was it, and it was a theme. May not be as literal as the Cadets Angels and Demons show, but a theme none-the-less. The non-traditional time signatures tied the show together musically, thus creating a theme.
