CrownBariDad
I seem to recall in times past, Allentown did not have a very good support for streaming at the stadium -- things were just old. Has that been fixed?

Land of Tim
Ok, Cavies definitely back up and running. Great brass sound tonight, cleaner feet all around. (Non sequitur--commercial just came on at least twice as loud as live feed). So, it seems that Cavies hasn't let the brass completely open up yet, but who knows...that may just be from the audio feed!!! Still, it seems that there is room for them to grow. (Second non sequitur--doesn't it seem weird that we have commercials playing with the stadium announcer in the background? Can't focus on either one! what a waste!) Overall, I think that the Cavies show is improving and starting to click now that they are all back and healthy. What seems most important to me is that the guard are cleaning up. The guard, traditionally a strong point for the corps, in the full score season, has held them back quite a bit this year. Almost every show I've seen (all streaming or in the theater) have been full of drops, inconsistencies and not very clean unison work, esp on flags. Tonight, it seemed to click much better! So, kudos to the staff and kids there--keep it coming!!! Interesting to see if they are any closer to Blue Knights. I hope and think that they can pass BK by next weekend. JMHO. 27Socal
Just did the online chat as well with the DCI stream folks...they are "aware" of the issues with sound, due to the placement of the PA's, the solo mic's, and other mic's. For me, I Have been getting a big of the bass and all of the front ensemble without any of the power of the brass. They told me that the "volume was lower overall, but they had opted for a 'wider dynamic range overall'" than in previous outings. The feedback we are sending must have risen to the folks live at the stadium, because my audio feed (high cam) has shifted at least 5-6 times during the Blue Stars performance. Volume levels shifting, what is being fed in and out, etc. I appreciate DCI's working to stream live high quality video of the shows, but ####, it's making me a bit crazy!!!! I understand that every venue is different, but geez! they should be able to figure it out! The announcer and commercials are at least 5 times louder than the corps. I want to be blown away! Wider dynamic range is fine, but how about mixing it on the broadcast mixer board to sound like we are sitting in the middle of the stands, not 10 feet in front of the corps speakers? They may have made some adjustments, it doesn't sound as bad now. i understand that the audio engineer at a drum corps show has a tough job because every corps places their speakers in a different spot, but the production crew needs to adjust on the fly. They may be trying to do that. Are the mics being moved to in front of the corps speakers by the guys with blue shirts and tan shorts? Is this Tom Blair's crew practicing for next week? kdaddy
Man, takes BK a while to engage. I'm sure that's by design, but methinks it takes a bit too long.
