DCI-86
No disrespect to Bloo's guard. They are good and fun to watch but they are not even close to what Crown is accomplishing. (And unfortunately the yellow uniforms are starting to discolor, especially on their behinds :/) No disrespect to your opinion, but i don't agree.......and neither do the judges! corpsband
LOL! Tell that to the judges!!! Bloo has beaten Crown's guard on every contest so far!! LOL! Tell that M. Lentz who had Crown up in guard in Alexandria. oops
the lone ranger
No disrespect to your opinion, but i don't agree.......and neither do the judges! No disrespect for sure. It's ok to not agree. But to say "neither do the judges" would be a huge generalization. Especially when crown has beaten bloo in guard,by more points, more often this year, by more judges in this caption. Let's see what happens as regional season begins, it a little early to make any generalizations about what "judges think".
DCI-86
To be honest - what this highlights is that more than any other caption, the guard caption seems to be subjective. Michael Lentz judges and Crown wins, G Olivero judges and BD wins....and so on. I am baffled how BD continues to win. I appreciate they definitely move better than other other guard and have more variety in their movement but they do not spin as much or as well as quite a few other groups, esp Crown!
tommynev
No disrespect to your opinion, but i don't agree.......and neither do the judges! Besides the judges putting them ahead explain to me why they, or any other guard should be beating CC.
DrumManTx
No disrespect to your opinion, but i don't agree.......and neither do the judges! I think elaborating would help out your argument. And I'm actually interested.
auldschool
LOL! Tell that to the judges!!! Bloo has beaten Crown's guard on every contest so far!! Really? And you know this how? You've seen all the recaps? Or are you just saying that...or hoping that?
DasTuba
Really? And you know this how? You've seen all the recaps? Or are you just saying that...or hoping that? If I remember correctly he has a kid in Crown color guard? Don't quote me on that.
Guardguy89
Crown would lose guard inexplicably last year once in a while as well. But it was always the same judges. It's all certain judges preference. George Oliviero has a history with scott and will most everytime have blue devils up. To my knowledge crown hasn't lost the guard caption to anyone this season until last night. Some judges may see crown way above Bluecoats and some may see it the other way around, its all subjective. Who wins the Zingali award comes down to who is judging the finals week. I thought crown would win guard last year till I saw that George and Marie were judging two of the 3 night. I knew then at that moment, that the blue devils would win guard. That doesn't take away from the outstanding season that crowns guard had. They were easily the closest anyone has come to touching this caption in almost a decade now aside from the Devils. So in my mind they won last year just like they won most encounters with the Devils in that caption. But just because George O says so, doesn't make it so. Crowns guard has been tops for a while now. And I'm sure there will be many shows where judges will have them 1st above the bloue teams. So i wouldn't get my knickers in a knot over it. It's one judge at one show. If all judges begin to agree on this outcome then I will start to ponder reasons why. As for now. This is the best crown guard I've ever seen this time of the year. Period. They look like they are in a different league of professionalism. Agree with everything you say. I guess I still hate the fact that this seems to be one of the most "subjective" categories to judge - but Crown should be untouchable this year but every standard there is when it comes to guard. Hopefully they can get that trophy this year - it's entirely deserved ! Later, Mike
tommynev
The first problem I see with BD guard this year is that the sabres with the streamers on them will never read clean.
