Eleran
Drum majors don't swing their arms when marching. When not conducting, etc., arms are to the side with hands closed (like holding a rope, with thumb resting on index finger) and thumbs aligned with the pant leg seam, or where the seams should be, and never swinging. Maybe the majority preference today is not to move the arms, but that certainly wasn't always the case. https://youtu.be/p2rhU27ttVs?t=29s https://youtu.be/mh1fWtQqXRw?t=6s https://youtu.be/2SmMCwGL1bM?t=9s https://youtu.be/5Cp7MhQSX5s?t=2m27s Frankly, I think the modern trend looks awkward, at best, and when emulated poorly at the high school level, often looks positively ridiculous (almost like T-Rex arms) Edited June 7, 2016 by Eleran

They're probably out of finals now. Good catch. Edited June 7, 2016 by zachariaswmb
xandandl
DW, HB! Enjoy Sinnissippi. Regt. conductors are resting their arms while marching. Few drum majors conduct the music with as much passion and arm dynamics as does PR. Different styles. This fits them.
xandandl
Nice crisp, partly cloudy sky for tonight's concert. Quite the difference from 2014 with rain bouncing on the snare heads. Edited June 7, 2016 by xandandl

I think you mean 2014's wet and humid extravaganza :)
