jjeffeory
Interesting news story. Good luck those in Concord; hope this isn't a problem for your Spring training, Blue Devils organization. This is serious stuff. http://www.cbsnews.com/live/video/bees-attack-northern-california-town/ Edited May 16, 2016 by jjeffeory
Stu
“I never saw no miracle of science that didn't go from a blessing to a curse” – Sting Well… this is what happens when humans, in this case Warwick Kerr, messes with genetics in the belief that humans can make things better than nature. N.E. Brigand
People have been messing with genetics for thousands of years, and it's often worked out well enough. Take corn, for instance. (Naturally I agree that this is not such an instance. And I send only Sting-free wishes to the Blue Devils organization. Unless of course, the B or C corps plans to incorporate some Police tunes into their shows.)

Arguably, Africanized bees are much better at kicking a** and taking names. That's just not what we wanted them better at.
Stu
Arguably, Africanized bees are much better at kicking a** and taking names. That's just not what we wanted them better at. Apparently Dr. Shoukhrat Mitalipov and colleagues are real close to creating Killer Clones! At least that is the word on the street! In all seriousness, knowledge many times gets far too ahead of wisdom; especially in the genetic sciences. And killer bees are a prime example.
