luv4corps
And they finished in the cellar again at Nationals. They need to move to Open and rebuild. Someone has been living in a cave.
luv4corps
I have to ask this. Why do some naysayers post that certain lower tiered corps should 'move to open class'? You don't move back to open class. What advantage would that garner? That's like telling the MLB team with the worst record to move back to the minor leagues. Really? It makes no sense. ibexpercussion
I liked what they did this past year, and think they are most certainly moving in the right direction. What we also need to remember, is that there are a lot of other quality groups around them (in terms of placement), and it's not always just about getting better, but getting better AND getting better than those around you. Also, I thought they were a great example of a group that decided how they wanted to arrange the musical and visual book for their show. They decided they were going to challenge the members with more difficult drill and music, and push the members to be better. Albeit, some portions of the show were a bit dirty, but outside of the top 4-8, who doesn't have some dirt. But they performed the heck out of the show, and the students probably got more out of that, then having a much easier show that could've been much cleaner. Cadevilina Crown
Going off on a bit of a tangent here... This year, for their 50th anniversary, the Cascades did a show called "O." In the French language, "eau" (pronounced "o") means "water" or "wet." The name "Cascades" implies a waterfall, not to mention that because they're from the Pacific Northwest, they get lots of water in the form of rain. It's interesting to see that instead of doing a show about the qualities of water, the Cascades did an interpretation of the letter O in terms of its purity and aesthetic qualities. At least that's how I interpreted it.

Eleran
Did they announce their show as "The Story of O"? Oh,my! ($1 to George Takei) That might have earned a few more O Faces
Cadevilina Crown
Whatever the case, I'm sure the audience members who saw the Cascades live gave them a "standing O" at the end of their show!
