DrumManTx
I still advocate Hindemith for Crown. I am thinking Mathis der Maler or Symphonic Metamorphisis. I am totally down for that.

kdaddy
If we're discussing Philip Sparke, I've always been partial to Music of the Spheres, especially after the 9:30 or so mark. And bonus for the most conductor-y looking conductor ever.
corpsband
If we're discussing Philip Sparke, I've always been partial to Music of the Spheres, especially after the 9:30 or so mark. And bonus for the most conductor-y looking conductor ever. I had this embedded but then deleted it because Crown just did a space show. If Crown played this we'd for sure hear "What's with all the notes for notes sake" again. I love the piece but don't have a good alternative storyline (yet). Sparke's list runs deep all the way back to Dance Movements (a show which writes itself). Jump to 10:40 for a treat of a ballad. (although this performance has some intonation issues -- might have to search some more :-) (FIXED) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhQ13BBAyUQ Edited August 16, 2016 by corpsband
palmettomello
On par with the Hindemith, Symphony in B flat would translate very well on the field for Crown. Several high schools have played snippets of it over the years. Ronald Reagan in their Synergy show and most recently Tarpon Springs in the Man vs Machine show. ZachDrumCorps
I'd like Crown to do more Philip Glass. Criminally underused throughout drum corps, past success, and the Crown Brass sound really lends itself to his work.
UKSuperman
I'd love to see what Crown could do with the orchestral score from the Lion King by Hans Zimmer. To me, is one of the under rated scores of all time. One of my favorites.
