My original post was not clear.  I realize they are different people.  The burning witch at the end is what the audience loves.

If my memory hasn't completely deteriorated, weren't the Salem witches either hung or crushed by stones? I don't remember any being Joan of Arc'd.

I guess I could use google but nah.

You are correct. The change to fire was for GE purposes.

I cited an article and link on the BAC thread which did the chronology explaining witches in now USA were not burnt, that was a medieval European solution. The BAC homers ignited the flames anew for me as if I had denied the earth was round.

You'd think burning the witch would be less work and clean up. Just saying...

are you volunteering to try that theory? I'm sure the BAC homers would oblige.

"Burn the witch" is a common enough phrase in history and culture for almost everyone to be familiar with it, on top of it being a great GE effect. "Hang the witch" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

You are both correct...I actually pointed this out long before you commented in the BAC thread xand...but this is a DCI show...not history class or lesson...besides countless artists over the years take creative license with their works and distort fact....and hey...it's good GE too :)

oh and btw...they do a hanging as well for you history buffs ...haha

It also makes for a great Radiohead song.

Not trying to take up for Boston, lord knows, but they do have a hanging on the right hand side of the field as well as burning one on the left front.
