Madison's impeccable detailing really draws you into the theme. But...the really stiff and traditional drill pushes you right back out. If there was EVER a show that called for more staging and freeform body movement, this is it.

The crazy outfits and very non-crazy drill are fighting each other.

Huh, go figure. The drill is what caught my interest the most.  Maybe the fact that it has cleaned up so much is what has impressed me.

I could be open to some more staging though, but this works too.

Nice show, but I still would pick my Mandarins ahead of them.

Mandarins can't out score them.on complexity, brass, or guard. I like Mandarins show too but if I'm judging, hands down it goes to Scouts. I've got a feeling this will be show that revolutionizes drum corps and will be a game changer

Would be really cool if Madison would add some canned Scouts sound during the fleur.  Maybe a Slaughter reference?   Something is still missing in there...would certainly help that move pop.

so what do the art pieces represent again?

The first set represent a city, bland but newly discovered. The latter, more colorful represents what happens when you "Make it your own" and find positivity in all situations.

For stuff you REALLY like, you could quote and +1.

Of all the corps to resist the move toward no-hat onesies in DCI, you wouldn't think Surf would be among them. They look downright throwback.

SNARKY PUPPY yes please

Surf did it two years ago.... before Bloo even did it I might add.
