Brigand Posted July 1, 2018 Share Posted July 1, 2018 I missed Incognito tonight, but here's what I counted as the size of the other four corps: Watchmen -- 80 (33 brass, 8/5/5/0 battery, 13 pit, 16 guard) + drum major(s) Golden Empire -- 90 (42 brass, 8/4/5/5 battery, 12 pit, 17 guard) + drum major(s) Impulse -- 48 (13 brass, 7/4/5/4 battery, 7 pit, 8 guard) + drum major(s) Gold -- 135 (72 brass, 8/4/5/6 battery, 18 pit, 22 guard) + drum major(s) Sorry I forgot to count drum majors. There's a high school marching band near me that put on modest but tight and entertaining shows with fewer than 25 performers in both 2015 and 2016 (they didn't even have a guard in the earlier year; it helped that their sole tuba player laid down a very solid bass line--while moving a lot--and I noticed that they slipped in 2017 when they had no tuba player at all).
