I don't know if anyone else here is a fan of the band A Day To Remember but they just released a new single today called Miracle. They say Right Here, Right Now multiple times in the song and all I could think about was Crown!!

Anyways, good luck tonight Crown!!

I'm out of touch with today's pop culture, I just learned that Elvis was dead.

The only Right Now I remember was Van Halen.

I wouldn't call them "todays" pop culture lol. They were big in the rock world around like 2005-2010 I would say.

Jeff Sacktig is a former drum corps member and current visual designer. He is mostly known for writing the drill for 9-time DCI World Champions "The Cadets", though he has also worked with Capital Regiment, Magic of Orlando, and other marching bands and indoor percussion ensembles. Jeff was a member of from 1986 to 1989, playing soprano. During his tenure, he was featured as a soloist multiple times.

Sacktig began working with visual program of The Cadets in the early 1990s, eventually becoming the corps' drill writer. His drill style is heavily influenced by that of former Cadets designers George Zingali and Marc Sylvester. His drill often involves large, sweeping curvilinear forms, in contrast to the more compact geometric style of Michael Gaines. His drill is often fast and high-risk, with many exposed block rotations and pass-throughs.

In 2005 and 2006, Sacktig experimented with a "representational" style, using drill formations to communicate meaning within the context of the program. This is most evident in "Liquid," the second section of the 2005 show, "The Zone," where waves, a fish, a waterfall, a faucet and a working showerhead are all incorporated into forms.

Sacktig's drill for the 2007 show, "This I Believe," seems to have abandoned this concept, as the corps as a whole "returned to tradition" somewhat. The drill for the 2007 show seems to borrow heavily from the 1998 show, "Stonehenge," which Sacktig considers his best work.

I knew about the wave, fish, and waterfall in 2005, but I don't think I ever noticed the faucet and showerhead. I'll have to go back and rewatch.

I still can't believe they don't play a single line from Jesus Jones. Big missed opportunity there in my opinion. Replace one of the "Right Here, Right Now"s with a Mello lick of the chorus or something.

I had no idea Sacktig was the writer for Between Angels and Demons (my favorite show all time so I feel even more disgraced lol). I just know how much people have complained about his writing while he’s been with crown (though I must say I’ve always been confused about that sentiment because all I’ve seen is genius drill writing, especially from Beast forward).

When I first heard of the show title, that was my first thought: incorporate some part of VH’s 1990 Right Here Right Now. Of course it would never work, but I, too, am showing my age.

And I was 10 years removed from tennie bopper status by ‘90👨‍🦳.
