This may be considered OT, so I will tie in relevance to last year's early stop at NightBEAT causing BD and Crown to be unable to perform.

Is anyone aware of whether show organizers hire their own meteorologists? Do they use the venue assigned mets for larger venues? Or does DCI have a prescribed meteorologist? Do they just check the apps on their phone? Or is it up to the hosting corps? Asking as a degreed met. It was so frustrating to me to see NightBEAT called early when 1) intermission could have been modified, or 2) the precipitation in the area was very light and not occurring at the time, and 3) there was no lightning anywhere remotely close to Wake Forest University.

Reach out!  My guess is they’re  watching the radar in an app and making a layman’s call. Having a pro evaluating things would be safer and more reliable than an app.

One last lick to the dead horse, re NightBEAT ‘22…

I make it a practice to arrive at the stadium +/-13:00, so I can at least say I got to see something in person & live, albeit drill sets.

Missed Relentless in ‘16, as I recall the later evening became a real washout. Woulda been lucky for standstill.

Last year: poor air traffic control & epic fail to adapt to changing conditions.

Clearly you are now obligated to get more clips tonight!  Please?   Really.  You have nothing more important to do, right? 🙂

Apologies for not making it clear - that's not my clip (I am also lurking around Reddit hahaha). I am just a Crown homer from across the Atlantic anxiously refreshing every page every day until 12 August. 😅
