Bluecoats 2023

i think bloo is trying to make commentary on the current political landscape of america. in a world where religion/state legislation is trying to step in between the rights of those in the LGBTQ+ community in places like florida where in many ways the existence of transgender or non straight people is being illegalized and silenced, the garden of love poem is now poignant and relevant. as a corps known for exceptional inclusivity and care for members, this seems like a direction they would take. it is a much more subtle political take than something like Propaganda show or what have you, but just as effective. i could be wrong though, just my take.

me as well, it is very commendable and personally i think it is important. as much as i like the bloo shows about fun concepts like tilt, or even jagged line, i love the new direction they have taken to tell stories with meaning, such as riffs and revs or garden of love. its cool to see them sending a message of love and acceptance and growth through their programs. its sad that many dont love it.

95.25

.05 up from last nights BD score. obviously should not compare across comps, but still very very cool to see. also up +2.3 points from the last time they competed at nightbeat. something happened tonight that we didnt see, and that is spectacular.

Scores are getting bounces as corps are energized after leaving the heat of the southern swing I think.

It was noticeable in Annapolis they're all getting their mojo going.

Bloo debuted some changes for Atlanta/Nightbeat and I'm sure they've cleaned them up well if not tweaked it all together more.

later in the season scores usually tend to start jumping so im not shocked to see a higher score tonight, but i did not expect a 95. they also arent competing with corps like crown, bac, or especially bd, so the higher score is likely reflective of that.

One way to gauge would be asking "how far ahead of the Cadets from last night?"  So either the Cadets had a significantly better than the strong Annapolis run or Bloo is still chasing BD as BD had a larger margin of victory over Cadets the night before.

But yeah, even that's rife with "different panel different night" heh
