That was just for the performance area in front of Macys for the tv cameras. Bands have to stop the traditional parade route to stage in that area following the directors' cue. TV rehearsal starts around 2am in the morning. It makes for a really long day for the performing bands. (Now I'm looking for a montage of the "lip syncing" vocal artist.) When I saw Univ of Missouri, I thought for a sec that they were using white Ludwig Strider drumheads with a silver dot. I almost had a stroke. Great bands all the way around. I still don't like marching woodwinds much, but the level of talent just gets higher and higher for these young players.
deftguy
Tarpon has been my favorite band in BOA since 2010. Each year I cannot wait to see what they put on the field. The Tarpon Colorguard is just sick good. Year after year, they have one of the most difficult equipment books on the field.

When I saw Mizzou, my first thought was who taught them how to wear their shakos. Maybe some of them are too big for their head? 😁

Yeah, some of them looked like the proverbial HS 9th grader who got an alternate slot at the last minute and was pushed into a uniform that they didn't have time to tailor to fit.

It's even worse than it used to be because so many of the shakos are round now and not actually head shaped.
