Musicman1084 Posted July 25, 2023 Share Posted July 25, 2023 Mike Jackson has had some of my favorite snare writing and tuning for decades now, dating back to his Mission Viejo days. Such interesting textures and motifs throughout. His tenor lines, on the other hand... I don't know what it is. There's just something about the writing that doesn't have nearly the same depth as the snares apart from some interesting rhythmic layering, but their features/solo moments do nothing for me and the tuning is just atrocious.
