And they didn't even cover this in the Bradley Cooper movie. The bastages.

I saw it last Saturday. It was pretty good but I liked The Holdovers better.  I think his creative process, which I was more interested in seeing, was given the short shrift. I wasn’t picking up a lot of chemistry between Carey Mulligan and Cooper. 🤷‍♀️

09 was also Cadets WSS...was that part of the problem?

According to the rumors, no. It was more the Bernstein estate didn't appreciate the works being mashed with non-Bernstein works. When the agreement with the Cadets came through in 2016, the requirement was the estate was to approve all arrangements that were done. They wanted to keep Bernstein's works as authentic as possible.

I was always led to believe it was Crown’s mashup of Somewhere with Somewhere over the Rainbow  that was the straw that broke the camels’s back. Too bad because it was genius.

they seem ok with simply doing a song but using anything in a medley is a no-go.

So what Cavaliers did in 23 was ok I guess?

wonder how they felt about BD's mashup of WSS and Romeo and Juliet?

DCI paid less attention to licensing and permissions back then
