BrigsDM
i remember that monday show.....was the drive home horrible on monday night <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahhhh...Hershey 1988...That was my first speeding ticket ever. I had my first day of classes at Bucknell University on that Monday and my last class didn't get out until 4:00 PM. I ran to the dorm, changed into my uni, grabbed my horn, and hit the road. I should have been able to make it there in time for Bucs' warmup time, but I hit aweful holiday traffic on Route 15. As soon as I got on the interstate and crossed the Susquehanna River bridge, I floored it pinning the needle at 85. The radar detector was a GREAT idea normally, but I wasn't counting on a helicopter that was timing cars with a stopwatch between painted lines. Needless to say, I was caught and pleaded my case when I got pulled over. You know...something like..."Officer it was my first day of classes...blah...blah...blah...I am late trying to get to the Drum Corps Associates' World Championships in Hershey...blah...blah...blah...My Corps goes on the field in 20 minutes...blah...blah...blah...Can you in any possible way give me an escort to the stadium?" It didn't work!!!! He wrote the ticket for 87 MPH...rather slowly I might add...and I went on my way (speeding again) and pulled into the stadium as the Corps was coming on the field. I parked illegally, made my way in the front gate and waited at parade rest on the sideline as the Corps finished the opener, finally joining them on the field as they started the second tune. Yep! That experience will stay with me the rest of my life! :P
Scerpella
Looks like the bottom 4 spots are not yet in stone!
CallipygianKing
oh man, i saw Chops Inc. in Kalamazoo and I was blown away. I loved how much fun the corps seemed to be having and those trumpet solos punched me right in the face!! Great job, Chops Inc. and I hope you all keep continunig to be awesome! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thank you thank you thankyou! Man did I pick the right year to go to DCA. And I like the smaller corps. B) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And we love fans like you! Hope you're going to Class A Prelims, otherwise you're only catching 3 smaller corps at finals. This is 3 or 4 different DCA shows in different locations with different judges. This is not an accurate way of determining placement. (Looks like Chops Inc. score was left out on this list) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, we weren't on DCA sheets, so putting us in there would even further skew things. And such comparisons are just for fun/speculation anyway, right?

Jeff Ream
Yeah, and Prelims and Finals all in the same day Total of 35 shows in roughly a 16 hour time span. (23 Prelims, 10 Finals and whatever they did to get 11th/12th on the album) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> due to rain, prelims was finals in 1987
Jeff Ream
i think at this stage, any assigning of permanent spots is severely premature. you really cant guesstimate anything until you see people go head to head....and that's prelims. I know this...the prelims judging panel has their work cutout for them.

Speculation, predictions, and other acts of attempting to forsee the future is still fun.

JimF-LowBari
And we love fans like you! Hope you're going to Class A Prelims, otherwise you're only catching 3 smaller corps at finals. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Definitely going to Prelims and the Mini Corps contest. Think I hit just about every Prelims that was held at Allentown. Living about 90 miles away from J Birney Crum(my) really helped that. Crawl outta bed, wake up on the drive over, watch a whole mess o' corps and be home for dinner. Just loved watching the corps and then read who won a week lster when my Drum Corps News would show up. OMG, just realized the last Finals I saw was '85 and I was in it. Heh, watching the smaller corps reminds me of marching in the old Red Carpet Association back in the day. Hope I'm not "reliving my youth" :P ^0^ Edited July 19, 2005 by JimF-xWSMBari
