SuperHighC
I played most of the solos with the 1967 Crusaders, at age 16. I was featured, in the concert number (you youngster know what that is?) St. James Infirmery. David Martin
Fastone
Manny Solort was a soloist for the NY Skyliners in the mid 60's and was either 15 or 16 at the time.
jth1206kp
The kid who played the opening brass solo in 2004 Crunchy Frog was 4, I believe.(Glenn Hazlewood's kid). Kevin was 6, but his brother Justin on cymbals was 4.

You see, the secret to his having 90,000 posts is that about 25,000 of them are actually double posts. :P

KoyaanisCABsi
Jeff Kievit was writing for Hawthorne Muchachos at what, 17? So I'm going to say Jeff had to be 14, 15 when he played his first solos.

Hi Linda, Hope hubby's foot is okay. Muchachos were not in DCA (but by some accounts they could have been back in the day based on their ages [according to someone in the Cavaliers anyway] say 1975????). jth1206kp
Kevin wins for youngest brass solo, Justin wins for cymbals!!! Darn those kids are cute. Finally dug this up....... Photographic evidence of the youngest brass soloist ever in a DCA sanctioned event. Kevin Peter Hazelwood, Crunchy Frog 2004, age 6 years 8 months. In the middle is Justin and on the right is J.C.
