CVQuesty
I NEVER get tired of being right! well, no... You see, first (as has been repeated here time and time again) that none of this makes a flipping bit of difference until we're all in the same show together, being evaluated by the same judges at the same time. So, your first assertion is irrelevant and therefore wrong. Strike One. Second, you said the Arnold scores were high, yet everyone at Arnold progressed in their following show to even higher scores at different shows. Hurricanes: 79.725 up to 81.475 CV: 79.413 up to 83.475 MCL: 70.125 up to 76.063 Sunrisers: 69.075 up to 72.700 Skyliners: 69.050 up to 74.413 If you were right, a correction by the judges would've taken place, especially with corps being compared against others around the circuit. Strike two. Third, several of the people you have copy/pasted in had shows, and some did not. You simply cannot compare people with shows that are getting scores to people who are having camps and cleaning shows. Following the general "3 point generalization" (that a corps will progress from week to week anywhere from two to three points), maybe more. There's no way to know, and a generalization does not a truth make. Strike three. I'd say that you should never tire of having an opinion, and leave it at that. Now, I don't disagree that fourth place is out of our reach. We'd have to knocck of a perennial world champion, and I don't think that's in the cards for us this year. I just think that incorrectly using numbers that have no relevance to the topic at hand makes you look a bit ill-informed. kosovobill
On this discussion of corp's scores in differant shows being irrelevant, last year at this time I pointed out (incorrectly)that Bush's score could have not possibly gotten as high as it did, and attributed it to the fact that they were at a different show than we (Brigs at the time). Well, if you folks look at the scores in august of last year, one sees a real tight consistancy in the scores, regardless of who was in what show at the time, especially when compared to the results at finals. In this case, Bush had gotten very good, very fast, and passed my corps. Irrelevant, I dont think so. While there is still time for a few surprises, I believe this ranking system is as good as it gets, barring some sort of rocket science technology. CVQuesty
Well, there's tons of people on these threads a heck of a lot smarter than me saying this. I'm just repeating that general consensus. All bets are off until we all meet on the same field. Jeff: Bar buddies off the field, mortal enemies on. :D
Jeff Ream
well Jerald, you're usually right, tho there are those that like to stir up trouble and take potshots with fake names and blogs.
bill
I actually thought they did very well, but you could sense that the holes had some effect, but I think the scores showed the effort involved with all the missing people. I didn't know it was that many. I originally wasn't planning on going to St. Peter, but Dave "Big Dog" Seip needed a ride from MSP to Petertown, so I kinda acted as a good samaritan.. I think today's show will bode better for everybody, a more drum corps type crowd at MBI's show. Pat Hi Pat, It was nice to finally meet you.
