Special Video Treat

A little video treat to hold you over until coverage begins August 9th has been added to the Multimedia section.

Check out the video of the 2005 SCV Hornline playing "Music of the Night" just outside Gillette Stadium. They were allowed to warmup again after a 45-minute rain/lightening delay.

ahh.... I wish there were quality recordings of hornline atudes, warmups, etc.

I think I am seriously going to make a brass lot dvd, top 12, etc etc...

If someone could get a professional recordings...... oh man it would be awesome

That WAS cool! [no pun intended as the weather that night was ghastly hot]

You can see Myron Rosander in the "Phantom" piece (wearing yellow)

and Stuart Shulman laughing during the LOUD warm up. My earphones

almost buzzed off my head - and I had it on low!

Certainly [and no pun intended!] an 'electric' moment!

Wow! That was great. I can't believe there was a show going on during that break and I missed it!

But based on the emotional charge from that warmup, it's easy to see why they came out on fire during finals, easily one of the best finals peformances of the night last year.

The Madison coverage is good to know about, thanks.

And yeah, the clips from 2005 bring it all back....

Ahh, reminds me of the 6/28 Newbury Park show. We had a nice long lunch break because SCV was housing at NPHS (and there was no where for us to practice), so a couple of us went over to one of our grandparents house near the school and went swimming. I was sitting on top of the slide into the pool, and I could hear Vanguard's hornline playing Adagio for Strings. Probably sat up there for a good 45 minutes before we had to leave. Awesome sound, even from a couple of miles away...
