Lance
BK's first statement of da-da-da da-duh da-DUH The last 30 seconds of Phantom's ballad, particularly the last 10 seconds of crescendo.
bawker
1. The chord resolution at the end of "Ave Maria" by Regiment. Icing on the cake. 2. Crown's "spooky" part of the show (directly after the ballad). Powerful. 3. Cadets "ascending Twilight Zone" tag ending...######! Plenty more, but those are the first three that came to mind. :)

bawker
BK's first statement of da-da-da da-duh da-DUH I almost included that...but the sop that....er, reaches for the stars on the ending chord kind of throws me. :P Edited September 21, 2006 by bawker
Lance
I almost included that...but the sop that....er, reaches for the stars on the ending chord kind of throws me. :P That's a shame. I never heard any of the finals week performances, so I was just going by what I had heard prior to that. And I definitely should have included the Cadets moment you mentioned on my list. rockthebus09
1. (bias) The hit in Crown's closer where the percussion drops out and it's pure wall of brass sound (this goes for the opening hit too, they were pretty similar but the closer was the original!!!) I also really dug the intro to part two, with the exposed low brass parts. 2. Bk's opening hit was pretty awesome too. only heard it in the lot, unfortuantely, but cool nonetheless. 3. For me, Cavie's trumpet "breakdown" when the trumpets preteneded like the machine broke. I thought that was a neat effect. 4. BD's tuba solo. but i'm a sucker for tuba solos ... 5. Spirit's baritone soloist. Didn't really get to hear that many other corps. I need to hit up season pass ... rdbc05
SCV's back-field echoing trumpet trio thing in their ballad. Sounds so cool.
ninjaturtle
Academy- most everything. Best DII hornline I've heard. BD- right after they make the gun, it gets real loud ala the 95 show. BD- right after the tuba solo, when the hornline is slowly jazz running downfield while playing their ba11s off. PR- peak of the ballad, saweet. Orange Roughy
1. Crown's hit in the opener, complete with late resolution. Out. Stand. Ing. 2. The crescendo at the end of Phantom's ballad. *melts* 3. The brief sop/contra duet that the Bluecoats pulled off so brilliantly. 4. The low brass "Da-Da-Da-Da dadadaDA dadadaDA" part about 3 minutes into the Blue Devils show that reminded me of a train chuggin along - too cool. 5. Crown's "spooky" part (mentioned above). I was the guy cupping my ears at finals.
