WoobieATL
The last chord of Star 93 because it was awesome and because of the historical implications.....
eightyonepointthree
Yeah, I hate loud balanced chords by corps that aren't my favorite, too. What's up with the negativity. Wow. You can use "Loud" to describe that chord, but I don't think you can used "Balanced".

Vanguard07
Cavaliers, 1995, 2:03ish, the last chord of mars, AMAZING.
plugcatcher
This one is easy: the chord near the end of Star's opener in 1990. I don't have the CD here, so I can't give the time, but I can descibe it... We're reaching the end of the closer, we just had the big statement by the sops (while the pit bangs on several large metal objects), and all of the sudden, the pace quickens... digadigaDAHDAH..........digadigaDAHDAH..........digadigaDAHDAH...DAHDAH...DAHDAH ...DAHDAH...DAH (mello run up to) CHORD Good God - that gave me chills just TYPING it. I was waiting for someone to mention this one. This is BY FAR the greatest chord ever. Nothing else comes close. This is the best moment in a show played by one of the greatest hornlines ever. I get chills thinking about it, too. And whenever I listen to that show, I have to rewind it 3 or 4 times right there & listen to it over & over again. Perfection. Somebody's probably gonna mention Spirit of Atlanta's early '80s hornlines, but they don't come close. My list looks like this: 1. Star of Indiana (3:49-3:52) End of list. End of discussion. Have a nice day.
fourouttheforty
The very last chord of Star 91 when they hit the second cross. The last chord of the company front at the end of Cadets 87. Pretty much any final chord by the Madison Scouts that lasts FOREVER ('95, '96, '97, '01, '04 for examples) The climax of Phantom '96 The hit in SCV '99 in Blue Shades (right before the rock out) The last chord in SCV '99 The climax of Adagio in SCV '00 The final chord of Ave Maria in Phantom '06 Do chord progressions count? The last chord progression in Phantom 03 before the kick. How do I rank these, they all kick ###.
Wild Nights
Phantom Regiment 2000- the big chord at the end of the climax of the ballad, Transfigured Night. That's it, right there. Voting closed. A close second is the end chord of Ave Maria (PR 2006)
mello4life
Cavaliers 2002: End of "Harmony" Nothing else can compare.
Lance
You can use "Loud" to describe that chord, but I don't think you can used "Balanced". Yet I do, and musicality is more important to me than volume, though the balance in that chord is what made them able to reach the volume and resonance they achieved, IMO. It's exactly why even though I love the visceral appeal of some of the 93 Star chords others have mentioned, I chose a moment by Phantom from the same year. It's also part of the reason I have a hard time ranking Phantom 06's ballad in there with best.chords.ever. The balance wasn't right, IMO.
