skewerz
anything late 70's to late 80's...some really great stuff in there, with music you can actually remember festive overture appalachian spring west side story porgy and bess and alot of the songs that we equate as "corps songs" conquest when you wish upon a star georgia danny boy somewhere over the rainbow and watching both the Bridgemen and Velvet Knights is a must! PR_ducky
The entire top 12 from 87-89 I would start with 89, in my opinion the best year of DCI for an entire top 12. every show (and even some that didn't make finals) were really good and enjoyable to watch. Then 87 then 88, especially Scouts, SCV, and BD
Lancerlady
Uhhh...Mav? That could be said of any year they made finals except for 84! LOL..nor did they play it in 1978... :P May I suggest one to add to this great list of suggestions already that I agree with, something that is often overlooked as a great entertaining show. 1989 Star of Indiana! One of my all time favorites! Original poster, you have your work cut out for you! :P

Meaghatron
...Original poster, you have your work cut out for you! :P I know, but I'm up for the challenge. There's nothing better than procrastinating on homework and watching some drum corps, haha. :)

jacquesb
1977 Fox Valley Raiders How would one go about obtaining a copy of THAT?
Hrothgar15
As for non-finalist shows, I highly recommend Southwind 1992- Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. To me, this show has design and performance qualities of a top 6 show. Southwind has consistently has some solid, entertaining shows regardless of placement. Meaghatron
I really liked Southwind last year, and I can't wait to see them this year.
cowtown
How would one go about obtaining a copy of THAT? ditto, can't believe someone else wants to see it - I know I saw it at the time, but don't recall it also, odd that 1980 gets such high marks I always felt like a freak for listing that as my favorite year - but musically, it can’t be beat (as far as musical enjoyment, maybe performance was better some other year, but I don’t care)
