RichCranford82
!Everyone's going to have their favorites. But my favorite year top to bottom (and the year with the most corps voted into the Classic Countdown) is 1980. You'd see the zaniness of Bridgemen. The "Rockford File" (Phantom Regiment guard on the 50 doing incredible tosses) 27th playing "Danny Boy" Santa Clara performing what was dubbed first asymmetrical drill. Sheer power of Spirit playing "Let It Be Me" That unbelievable sop soloist in North Star. The Cavalier's hornline stepping over the guard. Anyway...have fun and let us know your thoughts! MAV the Helpful :) Lets not forget the fantastic straight-ahead jazz show from the Devils, Madison playing "Malaquena" and "Through the eyes of love" and one hell of a rifle line, Vanguard playing one of the finest if not most influential drum solos ever, "Stone Ground Seven", Crossmen - wicked soloists AND Superman!! NR_Ohiobando
What year is that clip shown in your sig??? I'm actually not 100% on that. I'm assuming it's Madison Scouts 1992 show, although I've never actually seen it.(since they pulled a similar move the previous year I'm assuming it's 92)
GeorgiaGirl
So true-- if you haven't seen it before, it's new. There are so many truly phenomenal performances that will always be worth showing to somebody for the first time, just to see the look on their face. Analogy: The Sunday NY Times lays around our house for days, because if I haven't read it yet, it's still new to me. New-ty is in the eye of the beholder!
