AzEuph
Has never happened to me. Although if it did, I would probably go through my ipod and find the corps rival and blast that!! Not related....but I once met this girl who I liked and we started talking and she had mentioned that she marched something called drum corps. Man after that I was really into her!!! At my college's band day a corps station was set up and I kept asking the dumbest questions ever to #### off my friend who was working it. Stupid stuff like, why are there no wood winds? Where do you guys live? Where do you shower? You actually shower with other guys....!!! Some of his corps buddies thought I was serious. NR_Ohiobando
It wasn't drum corps, but our director told us this amusing story during a wind symphony rehersal a few weeks ago. Not really all that funny but, eh Apparently he was driving along listening to "Castellum" by Jan Van der Roost(which actually would make for a good show/song) blasting it with the windows down. He got stopped at a red light right at a part in Castellum where it gets incredibly HEAVY and LOUD. The guy next to him, who was blasting rap music turned and looked at him, and gave him an approving Thumbs-Up. The guy pointed at his dashboard and looked back at Dr. Ciepluch, who immediately shook his head and gave him a Thumbs-Down.
Western Burger
I have not, but I do have a pretty interesting story about listening to drum corps in my car.In my town we have pretty strict noise pollution laws and one day I just happened to be driving to work with my windows down effectively blasting Vanguard 99. Well...my luck with police officers finally ran out (I had never had any sort of traffic violation ever at this point...never even been pulled over), so I freak out as the police officer approaches my car. I expect to hear the "Licence and Registration" spiel, when something happens that completely catches me off guard....the police officer leans in and asks "Is that 99 Vanguard?" Thoroughly scared crapless at this point I do a doubletake and he proceeds to repeat himself. Finally I answer his question to which he responds "What else you got on you?" Turns out, this officer had an uncle who marched 27th Lancers and had grown up totally immersed in the drum corps culture. To me, this totally confirmed the theory of how small this world really is, and we spent the next 20 minutes chillin' on the side of the road talking drum corps. We actually meet up for drinks every now and then as well, and we co-hosted a psuedo party for this past years ESPN2 broadcast. And I didn't even get a ticket! I very rarely have the oppurtunity to share that story, good thing I read this thread. This story is awesome! I can't believe it! I always have some show blasting while I drive, and I love to see people's reactions when I pull up next to them with the windows rolled down. My brother and I were drumming along with a show once and we stopped next to an older couple in a convertible. Their faces were priceless! MagicBobert
When I roll up to a stoplight and the car next to me is blasting Eminem or 50 Cent, I crank my system and give them a taste of the Blue Devils hornline. You should see the looks I get.
Lance
When I lived in California, yeah, a lot. That was a long time ago. In Eastern Washington, not so much.

Tekneek
Never heard drum corps in another car away from drum corps shows since back when I was working with high schools, going to college, marching myself, or in high school. I used to see a few cars every now and then with a Spirit bumper sticker, but it has been a long while since I've even seen them out on the road. I'm only playing drum corps every now and then. I'm usually listening to some book on CD...being a boring old guy trying to make the most of my limited time.
