  1. Not a good thing for you to fade into the sunset.. You have been a voice of reason on this site, when some of the other contributors have been running down the street nude with their hair on fire !!! In one post you even admonished a fellow supporter of the corps you support to not complain about a score, but to congratulate the corps that beat your corps because they worked hard and had a great show. That let us know where you are coming from. So do not fade away, keep the posts coming, we need a "standard of comparison"
  2. The truck driver is in the witness protection program, and his son is a Cadet. While he was being hauled away in handcuffs by the California Highway Patrol, he was incoherently yelling about tour fees at the top of his lungs.
  3. After a year of higher than usual show cancellations due to downpours, it will be a relief to know that the show will go on in Indianapolis. The purists may debate some of the sound quality, but to others that are spending a fair amount of money on flights ,hotels, restaurants, and whatever else, the imperfect sound is a minor trade off compared to the possibility of a financial and logistical disaster. To those of us that cannot be experts, this is some consolation
  4. I'm wondering if Orlando is like a Home Away From Home show for BAC ?
  5. Boston, "Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear"
  6. My son was really impressed after I got his car out of the police lot...
  7. 1. Carolina Crown 2. Cavaliers 3. Boston 4. Cadets 5, Phantom 6. Madison 7. SCV 8. BD 9. Bloo 10.Academy 11.Blue Stars 12.Spirit
  8. I agree that the twelfth spot could go to any one of four corps. Spirit, Academy,Glassmen.Crossmen. In Boston's case, in my opinion they will be moving up if anything. Nice to see that things are not already determined this early...
  9. As for rivalry.. It is not quite the same these days (thankfully) Nothing like years ago when Blessed Sac, Crusaders, and Royalaires duking it out with everybody in Jersey City and Cicero
  10. I would like to see a "Demolition Derby" preferably using all low brass. Ten fully uniformed members from all of the World Class corps could start the affair, which would allow many corps to vent some of the animosity that has been harbored for years. Betting would also be allowed by DCI, who would take a percentage of the gate. An All-Star pit could play Bolero until the last person was able to play with an undamaged horn. Hard lemonade would be allowed just for this event, in order to get the fans in a proper mood for the cointest. If this proved to be a crowd pleaser, then perhaps bicycles could be used in further contests.
  11. Yes, Time for different hats.. What they are wearing now looks like the old immigrant neighborhood bands of the forties and fifties . The kids should not have to look like old men on the field
  12. 1..Cavaliers 2..Crown 3..Boston 4..Madison 5..Blue Stars 6..Bluecoats
  13. Am not intending to be a wise guy !! As one of those people that do not have the expertise to judge the preciseness of percussion and bress, the fact that one is not worried about a downpour, wether or not the show will go on while traveling to finals, police and fire sirens, airplanes flying overhead drowning out part of the performance, mosquitos, guard flags blown into the next arwa code by strong winds, I can live with the minor effect of the show being inside......
  14. I think their show is great !........ Having said that, it is apparent that the question of who will win the championship is no longer an issue. The dominence of the Blue Devils is not about to change either. Their organization is too strong, the influx of top talent is unending, and they are probably financially stronger than almost all other DCI corps... They have earned that ... There will be a second championship in Indianapolis this year, and that will be between Bluecoats, Crown, Cavies, and Cadets.. We might as well accept that, and get on with the show.
  15. There is no monetary award , or anything else connected with the so called "spirit of disney award" It is a marketing ploy to give disney free advertising. It costs them nothing other than some person getting minimum wage running around in a mouse suit.
  16. I'm becoming one of the people that no longer care about scores, it only took about thirty years to get to this point ! Just enjoying the corps that are entertaining to me personally.... A 98.8 is great , and well deserved for the presentation of " whatever it was" Apparently 70% of the attendees feel the same way, otherwise they would hang out waiting for scores rather than leaving after the last corps has performed.
  17. Academy is starting to look like the new kid on the block. Will surprise a few people in Allentown....
  18. Had no luck finding any schedule either, others have been looking also
