  7. Only 44!! But you had volume!!! I still get goose bumps with that Company Front in Johnny!!!
  8. Wow blatant disrespect! Back in the day we would close ranks and kill anyone that dared getting within arms length. Totally classless. Obviously an example of poor leadership within the corps. No justification can be made to support this type of behavior.

  10. Gee all the staff should dress up. I can't wait to see all the pretty dresses.
  11. I keep getting cascading screens for the video on my laptop. I checked Quicktime and defaults etc were loaded but still have same indications. Any suggestions, I need my Drum Corps fix. I have a pretty much standard Dell D610 laptop.
  12. Ok so not looking for said information it was thrust upon me in the after parties of Kingmen Alumni parties last summer (2007). A Certain un-named former 75 Boo Star (who was removed from the corps in late season 75) passed me this....Apparantly the directors or board members DR K, Gale Royer, Jim Jones and others, were told that several corps had overage members and were going out and cleaning it up. Said member was promptly and unceremoniously removed from the corps in early AUG of 75 to prevent any embarassment to the BS. On to Muchachos, I did witness personnally... an explicid video of Muchachos 75 prelims during one of the breaks during Kingsmen camp and promptly wet my pants...
  13. Pee-Wee, How did you help the situation? How many phone calls or hours did you spend? If you had a clue you would realize that SD housing is next to impossible with year round school and noise issues. OBTW although not timely all corps had a place to stay.
  14. So who from San Diego is going to step up and fix the situation? Lets get organized and put a long term solution in place. From what I have witnessed there are many that offer solutions and very few who donate time. I would like to hear from people in San Diego with some organizational ideas to fix this long term.
  15. This thread sucks. There are way to many incidentals that make drum corps in San Diego very-very difficult and challenging. Do any of the hammers have a solution? How about some positive spin? So one guy keeps it together with basically nil support from parents or money. I think after a few years of that the staff would see the light and step up and help the organization with the goal of the organization raising money and with a goal of being a magnet for the many talented kids in San Diego County. Obviously no one has the cabability to assist the core organization, I challenge you. I know you all (x-staff) realize that some one has to raise money in order for you to get paid. Has any one asked Allen how many parents blew off the PETCO Park staffing and what the financial impact is of kids not paying dues? The financial facts and analysis are very clear. The bottom line is that unfortunatley money is really the core evil of this situation. If parents of the organization would apply themseves I don't think this thread would be in existence. There is not much leadership displayed in this thread my rant included. My reccomendation is a solution with funding solutions from the oh-so critical staff that will make this San Diego youth activity a long term success. You know this is so ironic, I have seen so many corps fold and bite the dust due to this same kind of crap. I really don't feel that Esperanza will be one of them because the director has not paid out more than the org can handle. That is smart bus sense.

  19. 1974 in Waterloo Emerald Knights Precisionaires Royals Chevaliers Colt 45 Nee Hi's Eye Openers The last year Iowa had that many corps...It was June, I was 10/11 and remember it was very Hot.....
  20. Ok, Since I did my 25 years I think they should waive the entire 25 years. That would mean I come back in at 19 (44 then can march at least 6 more years (50). Ok...I got chops (Community Jazz Band) and log 5 miles a day (jogging) who has a Eupho hole? Let rock....
  21. I have seen all three. Mandarins music is hard to connect to also do not care for the new uniforms. The corps is solid but did not excite me as they did last year. Not to clean but looks like their program is coming together nicely. PC hornline has a nice full sound and appeared like they have a full corps. Show did not appear to me as technically difficult as the ESP and Mandarins. Hornline is definatley the high point. Esperanza has a very solid show and has made leaps and bounds this past week as they are in a 6 day death camp. Horn line is at 48, Color Guard and Drum line rock the house. The show is well written and has some gutsey in your face impact points. All appears to be cleaning up nicely. IMO Esperanza will crack the 17. Mandarins will be a close 18 and PC if they include some additional challenging stuff will be top 17....
  22. Look out...I have intel that tells me that they are doing 9-9's Mon-Sun before they depart for tour.
