  1. From what I can remember off the top of my head... BD 83, 84, 85, 86, 99 Cadets 93 Star 90, 91, 92, 93 Cavies 00, 03, 04 SCV 87, 98, 00 Phantom 06
  2. Stadiums serve a lot more than their teams. They WANT concerts, conventions, etc. An empty stadium is no good for the balance sheet.
  3. And people thought the Star references were bad this year... If it is, just wait
  4. Unfortunately, they still need a team. The NFL has no plans to expand, so an existing team would have to relocate. Perhaps the Rams or Raiders might return? Or the Chargers might just decide to go north (again), seeing as how they're having a hard time getting support for a new stadium deal in SD. But the stadium itself does look promising.
  5. http://football.ballparks.com/NFL/SanDiego...rs/newindex.htm & http://www.ftballiance.org/ <-- some information on that stadium proposal. The city is in debt, and doesn't really want to contribute financially to a new Chargers stadium. So, they've been looking around the county for a place to move. Chula Vista seems to be the favorite for the moment, but who knows.
  6. Perhaps you missed the part where Blue Devils executed their show better than Crown? Trying to diminish their accomplishment will never change that. Sure, Crown put out a great show (they took 2nd!), but posts like this aren't doing them any favors whatsoever.
  7. What impact has Crown made on the activity? Seriously. My vote was for the Cavaliers.
  8. Flaming, and presenting a differing opinion are two very different things. When people actually realize that, then most of the threads on here wont go down hill so quick. For a change it would be nice if we all attacked subjects with arguments, not insults towards the poster. And, for what its worth, I think Crown has their own identity.
  9. Now that would be awesome, especially if they gave it the same treatment as they gave their show this year.
  10. From where I was sitting, SCV was definitely one of the best sounding corps of the night. I suspect more corps will change their show designs to account for an indoor finals. That said, I think most of the posts, so far, have summed it up pretty well. While the stadium was great, the sound left a lot to be desired. Indy was nice, though I can't see myself wanting to return here every year. It's disappointing to think championships will be at this venue for another 9 years!
  11. Wow. You are making a huge deal out of nothing. The corps pulled out as a precautionary measure. Fact, you are more likely to catch a contagious virus, like the flu, in crowded conditions. Whether anyone at I&E actually did have the flu or not doesn't really matter. So, you disagree with their decision? Well good for you. No reason to sit here and try to insinuate that their motives are more sinister in nature. And, yes, they did keep the same REHEARSAL schedule. They didn't use those 3 or so hours they supposedly gained by pulling out to rehearse, rehearse, rehearse. Yet another pointless argument, though -- can't win where logic plays no part. Heh. And, I'll have a snickers for dinner!
  12. Yea, because we're all mind readers here and know the true intentions behind everyone's decisions.
  13. The flu is highly contagious. You could infect a packed room easily within 5 minutes. All it takes is one or two people coughing or sneezing. Droplets generally travel 3 to 6 feet. Not to mention most people to tend to cough or sneeze into their hands, then touch doors, railings, etc. Your chances for contracting the flu are much more likely in a confined space (such as a classroom), than say a football field.
  14. Interesting. I won't deny there are some similarities, but everything? If anything, I think they're more comparable to a few other corps, besides Star.
  15. Blue Devils - 2009 Cavaliers - 2009 HN Cadets - 2009 Crown- 2008 SCV - 2009 Bluecoats - 2008 Phantom - 2008 Boston - 2009 BS - 2008 BK - 2008 Glassmen - 2008 Troopers - 2009
  16. I wouldn't be surprised to see quite a few corps make last minute changes in hopes to max out their potential.
  17. I voted for the last option, as well. Would have voted for the Cavaliers if they had been on the list.
  18. It makes sense, actually. One would assume spreads are given based on the corps performing in direct competition with them on that night.
  19. Crown will be the 3rd from last corps performing at quarterfinals, cavaliers actually being the 2nd. Should be interesting.
  20. 1. Blue Devils 2. Santa Clara Vanguard 3. Holy Name Cadets
  21. It wouldn't be the first time BD has received a less than stellar crowd response in Allentown, and then go on to finals week and have the crowd going nuts for them. I don't expect that to be much different this year. Indy is going to be exciting. A lot of great shows.
  22. Considering where this show was, the crowd reaction comment doesn't surprise me, heh. As for the rest...
