  1. Fact. Can't confirm the girl tour goggles. I'll ask someone. By the way, them tour goggles make life a little bit easier. What's interesting is coming back from tour. Those goggles take a while to come off.
  2. Being a minority myself, that sounds like interesting discussion. Of course, can't hijack this thread or talk about anything non-drum corps related. I know Cadets need strong players. Too many vets in the line to loosen the slack on quality.
  3. I'm going to try really hard this year to go to New Brunswick, NJ and bring a few friends along. Testing during that time makes it difficult.
  4. As far as I know, at the Cavaliers, you can wear glasses anytime except for group pictures.
  5. In general, the consensus would be more brass, including warm-ups and sectionals. This includes me.
  6. That seems to be the feel, but after seeing a copy of the music, it is actually 5 measures of 3/4 and 1 measure of 2/4. It actually makes sense. Both make sense, but having the 2/4 at the end makes a slight bit more because there is emphasis on the second to last note in the phrase.
  7. You have to contact a sales representative directly. You should find it on the site. There is no order form and none of those formal papers. Trust me, I am enjoying my Hammond 6MPH.
  8. Agreed. The sustain right after the runs...Oh yes mellophones.
  9. I may not know that many drill writers, but I would have to say Zingali, Sacktig and Gaines.
  10. As far as Barber of Seville goes, I think it's conducted in 2/4 simply because of the feel. It's written in 4/4 though.
  11. I don't think it's low brow so much as they are probably too consumed in classical, indoor playing to deal with activities such as this. It'd probably be more beneficial to study under a virtuoso during the summer as opposed to marching drum corps.
  12. As far as I know, Cadets and Phantom are going that route.
  13. If one examines a graph of correlations between BOA and DCI and figure the regression, one sees that there are no coinciding point. Hence, there are no BOA shows that va9590jm would like to see a corps do.
  14. I would've liked to go to the Open house but no available transportation at the time. I went to the February camp. Don't take my word for it, but don't expect talking through a microphone.
  15. Exposures that draw you in. Yet at the same time, there are nice sections reminiscent of good ol' WSS but Bocook's arranging made it sound fresh and not so tiresome. It could be just the reverb or something, but it sounded fresh to me.
  16. I went to a Cadets camp this year. I enjoyed the original twist that they put in some of the pieces from WSS. It was unique.....filled with GE, I can tell.
  17. My groups Roman Regiment and Phalanx did wonderfully as they made Finals for the first time, achieving 6th and 9th palces respectively. We will continue to produce programs that will be competitively successful.
