  1. I know they've dropped the prices of the Legacy Colleection to $29 and of 2000-2007 $39, but yeah $99 for the new year DVD is expensive, esp. when I then have to convert to CDN $ and pay shipping.
  2. I realize he was talking about a cornetto, but someone did ask if any used a cornete, I guess I should have quited in that post.
  3. I believe the '91 Freelancers used a Cornete in thier show.
  4. I voted 2000. Why? becuase in Drum Corps that's a 'generation' 10 years is a long DC career.
  5. Ok I missed the 'twice in the past 10 years. Make sense now just given the sheer amount of corps in the early 90s that disappeared.
  6. Forgive me if I'm incorrect as I have not seen the '88 show, but was this not '89? Or did they do it both years?
  7. I suprised to See Devils on top of the last ten years, as the Cavies were so dominent in the first half of the decade, but I guess BD came on strong in the second half. Not suprised at all to see BD tops over the last 20, and yes it is shocking to see the SCV has only 1 title in teh last 20 years, and it was a tie at that too. Two things I noticed only because I'm very familiar with both corps. Kiwanis Kavaliers were defently a strong corps in the '90s so I'm not suprised to see they moved up in the 20 year rankings over the 10 year rankings. And I'm also not suprised to see Blue Saints last. The score in the 20 year range is depressing, but seeing as how we were not there every year, and all of the three years ('90, '92 & '95) we went to worlds while I was in Saints we placed last save for one year ('95) I'm really not shocked. One question for you though, did you merge Dutch Boy and Cadets of Dutch Boy into one grouping? Becuase I'm fairly sure that Cadets of Dutch Boy were at worlds a few times in the '90s, especialy in 1990 when the big boys made the top 12. Edit: BTW...AWESOME JOB!
  8. Ok my exposure to actual visual moments in those years are limited (working on it through the DVD's though) 1989 was my first year, I was at finals in 90 92 and 95, other than that it was PBS (except 96, 97 and 98 when it wasn't shown in my area or other circumstances caused me to miss it. so here we go in chornological order rather than and real ranking. '89 Cadets Slow mo drill '89 SCV - The dissapering phantom '90 Cadets Reverse Z-pull '91 Star exteneding the drill (the crosses) into the pit box '92 SCV witnessing the bottle dance live (I still get goose bumps when I listen to it) '92 Devils the setup to When a Man Loves a Woman. '94 Devils the heartbeat '95 Devils - The opening 2000 SCV the ending 2000 Cadets "one-ups-manship" Honerable mentions because my lsit grew to 17 and I was being 'conservative' '90 Devils Pinball Wizard '92 SCV - spelling out SCV. '92 Cadets - DA PLANE! '93 - The battle of Strawberry Soup '95 Cavaliers - The red drums during Mars 2000 Madison The Gadfly 2000 Devils the extra ending
  9. I don't know about this year. But in the past Blue Saints have usualy been a very young corps with very few age outs, I started when I was 10. The year I started was a rebuilding year, very young corps with a lot of rookies.
  10. Congrats Gaelen. I think you may also be the first Blue Saints member to comptete at *DCI* I/E. Glad you had a great season, best of luck in you remaining DCI years. EDIT: Added DCI as I know we've competed at ODCA I/E before (me being one of them)
  11. I really want to see them back in the top 6. Not the top 12, but the top 6. As much as it pains me to see a former champion fall this far, I'm glad that they are not making the top 12 on the basis of the fact that they are the Scouts. I think they really need to find a program that will work, maybe even a new design staff.
  12. I also agree that any of the top 4 could have won that night, those shows (SCV, Devils Cadets and Cavies) are among some of my all-time favorites. I love the ending of SCV's show, I also loved the surprise ending tacked on to BD's show, and the killer marimba feature. Cavies all orginal piece (that I had to wait for the VHS tapes to come out thank to PBS for cutting off that show) and Cadets 'one-ups manship" bit.
  13. As in the other poll I voted '92 and '95. Once again in a A-60/Division III corps. In '92 however I was on the field Saturday. I was in the mass Divison II/III corps that opened the show with the National Anthems.
  14. Ok so we were at Finals week in 90, wasn't actually on the field Saturday night. Kind of hard when you are the last place A-60 corps. It was still an awesome experience marching on Rich Stadium. The corps didn't stay around for Saturday night, but a bunch of us came down in a van for finals, and that was also an awesome experience. We left Sudbury for Buffalo, watche dhte show then went home right after, all with in 24 hours.
  15. I've only heard 2000, 2001, 2007 and 2008. I can stand the vocals, I voted for 2001, I loved Moondance.
  16. I did not age-out. For me life happened. My choice was between marching a Division I corps or going to University I could not afford both. Especially knowing I had quite a few marching years to go. I chose University. I do not regret the choice, but at the same wish I could have marched. My age-out year would have been 2000, and looking at the shows that year, I do wish I was on the field.
  17. Yes it is part of the tradition. Usually it your shoes, sometimes with a note inside.
  18. I've been relying on your scores because DCI is far behind again. (Edited for horrible horrible spelling)
  19. Scores are back up and sure enough they have Stentors tied with Racine Scouts 9 Velvet Knights 83.200 10 Legends 82.250 11 Memphis Sound 82.150 12 7th Regiment 80.850 13 Music City 80.400 14 Colt Cadets 78.100 15 Dutch Boy 76.400 16 Les Stentors 72.700 16 Racine Scouts 72.700
