  1. Mods, Mr. Hall's and Ghost's comments aren't appropriate for a drum corps thread and obliquely diminish the fine reputation of poster Tim K. I withdraw my comment about promotions and the return of drum corps as Ghost and Mr. Hall enter matters which probably violate political, religious, and reputation guidelines. Sorry TimK. You deserve better than to be swashed with the slime these two posters raise in their private opinions.
  2. Glad you made that full disclosure as some ripple whenever you comment on Cadets' thread. Something to do with '57-58 and another type of threads that ended up there in Beverly.
  3. Yes, I guess DCP diplomacy is challenge enough. Isn't that supposed to be "down the ladder" as in "servants of the servants of..." ??? CYO Nationals first started as an exhibition only event on the grounds of St. John's Seminary well before it became the renown national contest many of us loved.
  4. hope the large bands are able to avoid the rain predicted for tonight in DeKalb during Regiment's big fundraiser competition.
  5. Both did time in Cadets and on Cadets staff under Hopkins. cf. link Mr. Ream posted in post immediately above mine.
  6. True story that I learned when I frequently billeted there on my weekends up from NY to do the judging thing for CYO and EMass winter guard shows and MAA meetings and clinics: at the time, St. John's was built (1800's) all plans had to be pre-approved by a desk at the Vatican who when receiving the architect's plans back in that century responded: Are you educating angels or men? (There were no bathrooms in the original plans.hence the addition of the turret towers at the corners of the rectangle.) http://www.bahistory.org/StJohnsHistory.html I don't know how long TimK will be with us as the Brown Papi's job will soon be open (he's 75) and Rome may decide that TimK's skills on DCP diplomacy may just be what the BayState needs to give him ALL the parishes of the Hub. Then we'll see the return of drum corps circuits and more contests to Bahstahn.
  7. and hence why Jim calls you "Juliet" ???
  8. who worked with Hannum, Klesch, DeGroff, etc. when she was first at UMass Minutemen learning from George Parks. Her assistant, also a UMass and Cadets alum is Jim Ancona known for his great front ensemble and percussion work at Cadets, Crown, and Cavaliers.
  9. Many a Cadet went and marched WCU including the Litz.
  10. wouldn't that have to be(come) a Bloos Brother show?

  12. Be careful, Conty and Sutasaurus: Cappy has a new ally. Google California nutria. https://www.wildlife.ca.gov/Conservation/Invasives/Species/Nutria
  13. Blue Knights do the Friendship Cup competition which was Sept. 7th in Colorado (before the first snows of the season.) Cadets have USBands, Blue Devils share office at least with Western Band Conference,.... Crown has BOA and Avon H.S., just "kidding"
  14. Where's Hook 'Em Cavies? I'm expecting a contra duet with this. Seriously, all the best to our Southern friends. Floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires aren't any fun. I've lost houses to 3 of those four; you can keep the fourth while you down your fifth.
  15. then again, face to face, who can define GE so that everyone understands it?
  16. Gotcha. Will you then be comparing BAC to Phantom for the Coffin of the Decade trophy?
  17. C'mon Kevin Belobrajdic, hrn. sgt. for 2020: Will it be a line of Buicks again like the "old" days? "
