  1. I would have stretches where the video would buffer, most times minor but a couple for over 10 seconds (laptop was the only device using wifi bandwidth) but no buffering during loooooong talk break...go figure. The audio was wonderful.
  2. /snark They played enough for you to be able to tell? /snark
  3. No blame, JL, just an observation on the timeline...all good
  4. Cavies - so...much...running...and electronics...and running....and visual....could the horn line play a LITTLE more? Please?
  5. so far laptop/wifi viewing is buffering like crazy...
  6. For sure there's Giannini's Third Symphony (think '82 and '83 SCV...) and London Bridge is Falling Down...
  7. 2much, I was more referring to the number of colors in the pic I quoted...looking at it closer I can see 7 or 8 distinct eye colors:
  8. Looks like the uniform database thread is verging on becoming a clone of the uniform discussion thread...
  9. So when someone earlier commented that each "section" has their own eye color, it isn't just horns / drums / CG, but individual instruments? There's a lot more than 3 eye colors going on here...will REALLY have to wait and see this on the field b/c it doesn't seem like it will lend to a clear, cohesive image for drill...
  10. Don't forget what looks like a healthy swig of Blue Knights... IMO, another corps losing a visual identity. You can tell me they're Boston but don't look like Boston. I understand things change, but with the rapidly increasing pace of show-specific costuming w/o some core level of visual recognition/identity corps are becoming themselves in name only...
  11. I'm planning/hoping to go to the first Massillon show, definitely the second (I'm only 20 minutes north in Akron) and Big Loud and Live. Other than that, we'll have to see. Looking forward to seeing all the DCPers at the August Massillon show!
  12. I have a penchant for forming weird/unique/quirky initial impressions of things I see/hear...first impression of Phantom's approved concept: Darth Maul meets Boba Fett.
  13. Last year in Massillon, I met Zac (at the 0:38 mark) and another trumpet player. Very nice young men (they spotted my vintage teal SCV hornline shirt and struck up a convo) and a great finish to my night...
  14. +1 Regarding shakos, IMO, if it's big enough to go over your ears it's too big. Re: the Colts shakos specifically, they kind of remind me of that old-fashioned striped candy my grandmother used to have at Christmas...
  15. so will a screen grab from that be the first post to the 2017 Drums thread? :)
  16. The silhouettes definitely have a Puritan / Salem, MA feel to them...along with the more obvious 'W' and 'A' in the title...color me intrigued for this
  17. As for my 1.8 cents view, and without the almost requisite tongue in cheek commentary, my initial reaction to those was "They look like something from All That Jazz, Chicago or Cabaret..."
  18. I was at this show...classic open wood bleachers, ring of souvie tables (and the Vanguard bass drum)...Marion was our big show pilgrimage growing up - then we went to Finals in 74 and everything changed...
  19. "Pwease Mister Game Warden, could you tell me what season it is?" "Everyone knows it's drum corps season!"
