  1. I'd love to see Chuck back with Crossmen. Make this happen!
  2. I did not always reside in Cheese Steak City. Saw Avant guard many time...nice corps. Was weird seeing them the first time they wore Seneca's old Banaheim jackets.
  3. Of course! both Moe and Al are deserving. vote now...vote early. vote often..... (whats that? we don't get to vote? C'mon DCI get these two individuals where they belong.
  4. Wow are you off-base... I'm sure the thousands of Non-YEA Drum Corps kids that have been influenced by Al would disagree with you. He is an inspiration to anyone marching today both as a teacher and performer. He gives freely of his time and NEVER fails to give the Drum Corps Activity full credit for his success. Sorry your problems with YEA have blinded you to the HOF qualifications of Al Chez. (BTW: If you check out the senior corps forum you will find many posts from Al calling for the induction of Moe Knox.)
  5. 1. Anaheim Kingsmen 2. 27th Lancers 3. Argonne Rebels 4. Star of Indiana 5. Suncoast Sound
  6. 1975 Osage Precisionnaires 1997 Colts (BS&T....thanks Chuck)
  7. That picture IS Al Chez.... He marched with Reading for the last month or so of 1982, playing the solos in ballet in brass. Last time that he marched with his two brothers (Mickey and Pete).
  8. According to a VERY reliable source......Bones is being sold to a HS band director in Texas. All those pink tables must have been very expensive. very sad
  9. Trade her to Phantom for "Gene Kelly" and a first round draft pick.
  10. Ignorant? Very nice.....I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought that show was dull.....(see other posts in this thread). Did you see this show live? Are you familar with the original work? Have you listened to way Spirit handled the same piece? Lighten' up kid.....it's just my opinion.
  11. 2000 Glassmen? The only corps that could make Gershwin boring. I still have not forgiven G-Men for reducing Gershwin's beautiful Concerto and stripping it of all melody leaving only a series of impact points. Cadets and Spirit did it right. Phantom 2005? The best!
  12. Totally agree! IMO the problem was not the source material but the way it was interpreted by the arranger. He “got” “Radar Love” but completely missed the feel of “Paradise”. When I first heard that Bones was playing “Classical Gas” I was happy with the selection. A drum corps classic…. how could it go wrong.? . Cut and paste the piece and spread it over 11.5 minutes. Ugh. Bring back Naffier!!!!!
  13. Word has it that Al Chez (of NJ Saints, Garfield, Reading Buccaneers, Bushwackers and Letterman fame) holds his trumpet that way in tribute to Metzger. That true Al?
  14. My two cents.... (edited for stupidly omitting Madison) 1. Blue Devils 2. Cavaliers 3. Cadets 4. Phantom Regiment 5. Scouts 6. Vanguard 7. Bluecoats 8. Crown 9. Crossmen 10. Glassmen 11. Boston 12. Colts 13. Seattle 14. Spirit 15. Blue Knights 16. Magic 17. Southwind
  15. Not really sure where this is going but.... This sounds strangly familiar.......Tuthill did the same thing to a corps from Edison NJ back in 1977. Corps never recovered and folded soon after he took over.
