Matt_S
Only in championships. That being said, it'll be interesting to see the recaps and figure how the ordinal system would place 'em. Actually, new for this year, ties are back. Even at championships. Ordinals will not be used.

No, there can be a tie at championships. This was changed in January at the rules meeting.
SeanOwenSullivan
Interesting outcome! So, are we gonna have a tie to end the '00s? Actually 2010 will be the end of the 00s. Cheers, Sean

FTNK
According to my calculations The Cadets & Cavies don't face off again until San Antonio July 18th? Am I correct? "Ain't gon' be no rematch"
dbc03
The funny thing is they removed the rule for no more ties for the championship didn't they? Not that it is relevant here tonight but theoretically they could tie at finals again...
Matt_S
http://www.dci.org/news/view.cfm?news_id=2...52-77c2575edf73 TiesThis rule change was not expected, but when introduced by the Cadets’ George Hopkins, passed unanimously. Since 2001, a rule has been in place that any ties for first place would be resolved at all shows based on the placement of the corps within individual captions (ordinals). The membership voted to eliminate this rule. Now, if there is a tie for first place at any DCI contest, both corps will be awarded first place. Monterastelli explained the new rule noting, “The judges make their decision when they give the corps their scores. Under the old rule, it would be artificially decided – after the scores are presented – that only one of those corps that tied should be awarded first place. We accept that the judges did their job and made the final decision regarding the score.”
barigirl78
Of course, I was hoping for something a little higher from the Crossmen, but I am extremely aware of how far what they performed tonight is from where it eventually is supposed to be. Look for this show to evolve as the season progresses. The first show is out of the way and it's "forward march" from here. Nice tie at the top.
