Best of the decade- Blue Devils

1. 2007 - Possibly my favorite drum corps show ever.

2. 2006 - One of the best overall staged and orchestrated shows ever.

3. 2008 - Totally bold and unique show concept done well. Guard was astounding.

4. 2001 - Monstrous musical madness. The ending just hammers you.

5. 2004 - One of the best usages of musical effects to portray a theme.

6. 2002 - Classic tunes. Got 3 standing O's at Finals in Madison.

7. 2003 - Fast, well-executed & cooooool.

8. 2005 - Kortrijk, Belgium - best drum corps crowd ever. You had to be there.

2009 will be near or at the top but waiting for time to tell.

1. 2008 - Constantly Risking Absurdity: Awesome music, great drill, and comedy!

2. 2004 - The SummerTrain Blues Mix: Favorite moments: Summertime, Take the "A" train and exit

3. 2006 - The Godfather, Part Blue: Gonna make you a show you can't refuse...

4. 2002 - Jazz: Music made in America: Some didn't like the Channel one suite redux, but I did.

5. 2000 - Methods of Madness: I really didn't like this one the first time I saw it, but it grew on me.

6. 2009 - 1930: This one could move up (season is not over yet).

7. 2003 - The Phenomenon of Cool: Over rated but you can't argue with that execution.

8. 2007 - Winged Victory: This one was boring except for the opener.

9. 2001 - Awayday Blue: I hated the music this year. Really hated it.

10. 2005 - Dance Derby of the Century: YOWZA!!! What a waste of a year and a good corps...

2. 2006 - like the godfather, liked the music, liked the drill forms

3. 2009 - cool music, don't mind the chairs

4. 2004 - awesome solos, cool theme

5. 2001 - moments of coolness like the tank treads

6. 2008 - just wasn't too entertaining for me, liked spartacus and samurai better. Performed it well just not my favorite

7. 2007 - if we were doing only the first half of shows this would be in the top.

8. 2005 - mehh...

not really familiar with 2000 or 2002 to be honest

2003 - The Phenomenon of Cool ? No the complete demonstartion of excellence.

2000 - The way they swept across that field from the beginning to the end, outstanding. Had the guard not used that "Blanket dance" yet another guard title would be theirs.

2007 - C'mon, no brainer, it was just downright intense, dark, forboding, everything the bad ### Blue Devils should be.

2001 - Sorry Tim, No "Snooze" here, Away day Blue was outstanding as was the excellence of that colorguard

2002 - If they only had one more week, and yes they should have won high guard, simple as that.

2008 - Constantly contending for the title, and doing it like only they can. The color on the field alone was brilliant.

2004 - Summertime + Blue Devils = Classic

2006 - ANother intense show title worthy (arent most of them ?) And another outstanding "scratch your head" colorguard

2009 - Chairs or no chairs, its still the Blue Devils and that makes them worthy of praise, who knows, maybe my next viewing will convert me !!

2005 - R.I.P. God, Even Madonna can make a bad record, right ??

1: 2000- Scary intense drum corps

2: 2003- Great opener and ballad, didn't care for the closer but still a great package

3: 2004- I like the show even though I can't really put my finger on the exact reason why

4: 2007- See 2004

5: 2002- Liked the individual pieces, even "Channel One-Half Suite"

6: 2009- Don't really like the whole concept but I can't deny that hornline

7: 2008- Very weird show, glad Phantom won

8: 2001- Nice job with the opener, rest of the show left me flat

9: 2006- See 2001

10: Every show BDB has done this decade

11: Every show BDC has done this decade

12: 2005- YOWZA this show was bad!

My shows in order, with only short comments -

1. 2000 - Methods of Madness - start to finish, they push the theme hard

2. 2004 - The SummerTrain Blues Mix - great drill, great horns, good drums

3. 2007 - Winged Victory - awesome first half, very good 2nd half

4. 2003 - The Phenomenon of Cool - see above - opener is an all-time classic. Rest, not so much.

5. 2005 - Dance Derby of the Century - best DCI narrator ever voice-wise, but the show runs out of steam

6. 2002 - Jazz: Music Made In America - for me, Channel One was the one that didn't fit.

7. 2001 - Awayday Blue - Awayday is just not an engaging song. And that's most of the show.

9. 2009 - 1930 - Jury is still out, but so far, it totally fragments after the opening.

8. 2008 - Constantly Risking Absurdity - I don't think it had the laser-like focus of an all-time show.

10. 2006 - The Godfather - probably my least favorite BD show ever. It had attitude, but that was all.
