Great stuff submitted. I guess when I picture the logo I always see the side of the semi trailer. In that case, I prefer to see a real picture of the Cadets in action .... hard not to understand what and who they are if there is a picture showing you on a massive moving billboard.

When it comes to letterhead, website, etc etc etc ......... I'm sure they are looking for simplicity that is unmistakably Cadets. The G with the arrow, running man ... things like this are very hard to come up with and have them be instantly recognizable with an organization. I still don't agree with changing a world famous logo of a product .......... in fact I still think it should be the G with the arrow or a variation with the C (and no words other than the corps name .... if at all).

Hey, turns out this is a real contest! Thought it was a fantasy thing like football. So I sent those two ideas to the Cadets. Thanks folks!

how about this:

Ooooh. I like that. Would maybe make the "t" a bit more gold-ish.

Draw a box. Write the words "The Cadets" somewhere outside of the box.

Update from the YEA! site:

Logo design contest garners nearly 40 submissions

Creative alumni and fans send in ideas for consideration

Nearly 40 designs were submitted for the Cadets Logo Contest as 13 creative fans and alumni submitted their designs for consideration.

The contest launched early last week when Cadets Director George Hopkins announced the corps would undergo a re-branding, retiring the “running man” logo in the 2010 season. The submissions will be reviewed by Hopkins and marketing consultants.

“Thank you so much to every designer who submitted designs,” Hopkins said. “The timeframe was short, we know, but we still received some very clever, original work.”

i think whatever design makes it out of the contest will be an improvement. The running man logo was great for an introduction to the uninitiated, but I much preferred the arrows. Another design I hope is considered is the Shako Shirt logo from their 08 catalog.
