Lance
so far my favorite show of the year, musically, and that's saying something. this will end up being one of my top 5 all-time, i can almost guarantee it. i have a feeling they're going to add in the first 4 minuts of the last movement of Concerto for Orchestra in there at the end, and that will just make it MORE spectacular. Imagine the first few minutes of this added onto the end of SCV's show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTMP220xhI0...feature=related Found out tonight that the last movement of Concerto for Orchestra is indeed their closer. Even more excited now.
watersling
For those interested in Vanguard's show, the following two articles on SCV's new direction since Jeff came to the Vanguard organization. There are few DCPers expressed the frustration of "learning the source music" and "growing on the audience" thing. I totally understood that feeling. But I am glad to see that SCV is going somewhere different among all the world class corps. http://www.scvanguard.org/about/news/news....df-adb67233c47c http://www.scvanguard.org/about/news/news....ea-a39ddbb56902 That said, I don't believe that we would see viper, vanguard yell and cymbal V this summer again. That's okay, I would rather have a unique show.

Bruckner8
im loving this showbut TURN DOWN THE SYNTH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD minus synth, favorite show of the year. It won't happen until one judge writes on their sheet "Balance was unreadable due to the synth, so I gave you a ZERO for those portions of the show, causing your overall number to sink to about 5.9" Apparently, judges must have been given a "gag order" on this topic. Get rid of the synths, and bring on the woodwinds...at least woodwinds are acoustic, effineh.
