perc2100
Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings, but I just do not like this show... not even a little bit. Wayne Downy, Scott Chandler, and Jay Murphy just wept a little because of you... * I agree with you, though. Guess BD's design team is crying even more
mobrien
BD - like the mirrors - but the musical book again feels in need of a dose of Ritalin (I thought they'd fixed that last year).

gellio
SCV 1999 and 2000 would like a word with you. You have a point, but I agree with the original poster. I loved SCV 1999 and 2000, but as a classical music lover, they picked pieces that are actually beautiful those years. I really hate 20th century classical music. By and large, the composers of that area (and yes, I am generalizing a bit here) have sucked the passion out of classical music. I just don't understand, with SO much wonderful 17th, 18th and 19th century classical music out there, the Vanguard continually chooses passionless 20th century pieces. Where is Mozart, Beethoven, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, etc....? Prokofiev and Shostakovich, IMO, are the best the 20th century has to offer. jjeffeory
Haven't seen most of the shows yet (minus WC corps of this stream), so someone let us know: are any corps using the anything goes pre-show stuff (i.e. otherwise illegal instruments/music samples/etc)? Not instruments, but samples. Also, several corps have strings and woodwind sounds with the synth. Also some chorus stuff. Cavies - Samples, sounds effects Phantom Cadets Bluecoats Spirit - Forging..... Forging an icon.... Pre sample... Too many to remember. Some are okay, some are pretty annoying, honestly... What you're saying is that you actually just like Romantic-Era music. ...and there was plenty of Neo-Romantic in the 20th century.
Lance
overdesigned, overarranged, going for a visceral response that I'm sure it gets live. just too much for me.
