Donny Drum Corps
Canadian Knights and Ventures early to mid 80's...also Northmen from Rochester, Malden Diplomats and California Dons. All of these corps were very good.
dc oldtimer
I agree....Boston Crusaders in 1979. WOW!!!!! Ya, I was marching then and when I could I made sure I would see Boston that year so I could hear Conquest. They were small but F'n loud. Just add it to the list of items that define drum corps: Conquest Slaughter Send in the Clowns Bottle Dance Legend Rainbow Z-Pull . . . . . Fran Haring
Let's not forget the 1997 Marion Cadets. Was that the year they had something like five horns?
rayfallon
Was that the year they had something like five horns? Geeze - the Marion family - Cousin Joe and the boys - had more than that!

pearlsnaredrummer77
Canadian Knights and Ventures early to mid 80's...also Northmen from Rochester, Malden Diplomats and California Dons. All of these corps were very good. Northmen were cool. I think about 25 brass and ten snares-massive battery.
Northern Thunder
Northmen were cool. I think about 25 brass and ten snares-massive battery. In that regard they were similar to the Tornadoes from Fairfield, CT. Back in either '82 or '83 they had 10 snares, but their hornline numbered in the 20s. audiodb
Was that the year they had something like five horns? They had five horns for more than one year....but in 1997, those five horns nearly won DCM division III (did win prelims).
