Fran Haring
Pembroke Imperials They had some really good corps in the 1970s. In 1971, myself and the rest of the members of my junior corps stayed at the homes of members of the Imperials for the World Open that year. And we returned the favor when the Imperials came to our home show in NJ that summer. Mid-1970s....'74-76, basically... we saw the Imperials at a few shows, and I remember they had a relatively small baritone line (nine, 10 people or so).... but man, could that bari line flat-out bring it. Great sound. Edited September 28, 2010 by Fran Haring

Bob Brady
...was it '79? BOSTON, Holy Conquest, Batman!cg One of my All Time Favorites!! First time I saw them that year was at DCI North in Ypsilanti(anybody remember Rynearson Stadium?) They went on early in the day in prelims, before the finalist block. I remember telling people how they would blow them away, nobody believed me until they knocked of several bigger corps and made finals. I still listen to that show alot. One tough, hardcore balls to the wall old school Drum Corps!!

chasgroh
Stockton Commodores 1973. Probably the smallest World Class finalist corps. ...yeah, but they weren't *small* by any means, Don! By your definition Kingsmen in '74 was small (45 horns, 24 guard and about 20 in the battery)...! I LOVED '73 Commodores, BTW. cg
