.....in your opinion the most influential to drum corps?

I thought of a few....Chuck Mangione, Tower of Power, Maynard Ferguson to start the show off

"Arranger, Composer, Etc":

JOHN PHILLIP SOUSA. Yeah: You read it right. In the "Early Days" of the activity (1950's-1960's) JPS numbers were quite common, "National Emblem March" being a "Signature Number" of Blessed Sacrament, and "Stars & Stripes" the "Color Presentation & "Off the Line" of St Kevins Emerald Knights. :satisfied:

"Stars & Stripes Forever" is a mainstay of the USMC drum corps, often used as a "Closer" or "Encore" number.

And corps continue to ignore Spike Jones, Weird Al and PDQ Bach.

I;ve always thought about a Weird Al show...You couldn't do his parodies really....they're too lyric driven (and the melodies themselves are from other artists), but his original works?? Certainly.

PDQ Bach....1712 Overture....right up VK's alley.

Definitely! "Hardware Store" by Weird Al and his take on Bohemian Rhapsody--don't really need the lyrics for that one, just do it as a polka!
