bluecoats88
I'm generally anti-field prop, always have been, they don't bug me if they are carried or used by the guard unless they are used poorly or for too long but stuff that a corps just plops on the field, yuck Often, props are distracting and just that, a prop (as in crutch to prop up score) – a lazy GE grab, why couldn't you write it into the show another way? Should a corps get the same GE reward for running up a fixed prop as they would doing some killer drill for that 30 seconds, is the prop earning that GE and not the corps skills? I also see field props as lazy, cheater drill marks, more point of references to mark drill from – like a giant dot sign post...now run to this one in 5 counts and now that one Corps tend to over-use their prop, we made this cool prop so we have to have it out for ½ the show…never got some props, like all the flowers SCV rolled out on the field to just sit there, good show other than that…hate tarps too do you mean the Red Poppies they used during their show titled, what was it?, oh yeah - The Red Poppy. OrangeCrush014
Not drum corps, but I can't think of field props without thinking of Tarpon Springs High School. Their 2010 show had so much stuff on the field that you lose grasp of the fact that it's on a football field. Like --- Cadets 2005 - The Door Crown 2007 - All of It. Bluecoats 2007 - The "Lasers" BD 2003 - Cymbal Rack Magic of Orlando - All of it. Ever. Dislike --- Phantom 2009 - The Violin (tried way too hard to make a gripping story with it) BD 2009 - The Chairs BD 2010 - The Mirrors Edited June 20, 2011 by OrangeCrush014
contrajedi8
Props are dumb. But in particular: 2002 Boston Crusaders 2005 Capital Regiment 2006 Capital Regiment 2007 Carolina Crown 2009 Phantom Regiment

crownisking
…hate tarps too Ok, but how cool would it be if a corps used a tarp with no markings of any kind (including yard lines, hashes, etc) and marched PERFECTLY every night?!?!? Tell me THAT wouldn't be awesome!!! Edited June 21, 2011 by crownisking
